Memebox Colorbox 4 Electric Brights

Memebox Colorbox 4 Electric Brights
Here is the first of a bundle of three colorboxes, Memebox Colorbox 4 Electric Brights. The colorboxes were sold for $15 each, plus shipping, or $30 plus shipping for all three. I got the value bundle that came with a free upgrade to express shipping. Here are the contents (with stated value in USD):

  1. Vivito Vivace Color Cream Jazz Coral, 6g ($32)
  2. Vivito Vivace Color Cream Funky Rock Pink, 6g ($32)
  3. Vivito Blues Shiny Primer, 30ml ($34)
  4. Vivito White Angel Chorus Beam, 30ml ($34)

Total value of $132 (quite high, and possibly exaggerated for only four items).
Here is how Memebox described this box:

From this description, I was expecting to see some bold and vibrant colours..something fun and exciting perhaps?

1. Vivito Vivace Color Cream Jazz Coral, 6g ($32)
Memebox Product Description: "This multi-pigment cream comes in variety of different colors ranging from gold, purple, emerald green, white and pink to this deep cobalt blue, which can be used as an eyeliner, a shadow, and a lip color all in one. The beautiful blue pigment glides smoothly onto skin with a silky texture, completely waterproof and smudge-proof, and shimmering with subtle pearls and vibrant vividness."
How to Use: "Use a brush or your fingertip to smoothly apply over eyelids or over whatever part of face you desire. Multiple layers give deeper, more vivid color formation."
This is definitely a bold colour that fits the theme. Probably only something I'll ever use on my eye lids as an eyeliner only.

2. Vivito Vivace Color Cream Funky Rock Pink, 6g ($32)
Memebox Product Description: "Again, one of the Vivace Color Creams in a lovely Funky Rock Pink. This lovely pink color is also a multi-player and can be used as an eye shadow, a blusher, and a lip color. The creamy pink pigment glides smoothly onto skin with a silky texture, completely waterproof and smudge-proof, and shimmering with subtle pearls and vibrant vividness."
How to Use: "Use a brush or your fingertip to smoothly apply over eyelids, cheekbones, and lips. Multiple layers give deeper, more vivid color formation."
I didn't take a picture of the colour, but it wasn't too special or memorable. Not too much electric to me..perhaps the packaging is the only thing that fits the theme.

3. Vivito Blues Shiny Primer, 30ml ($34)
Memebox Product Description: "This Blues Shiny Primer coats over skin with a velvet-like veil which preps skin with both moisture boost and natural coverage needed to create the perfectly dewy, radiant complexion. It also firms the skin and enhances the lasting power of makeup to follow."
How to Use: "Apply the primer evenly over well-moisturized face. Follow with BB or foundation."
Again, probably only the packaging fits this theme.

4. Vivito White Angel Chorus Beam, 30ml ($34)
Memebox Product Description: "This White Angel Chorus Beam is your ultimate makeup base for dry, dull skin-containing shimmering pearls for extra-refined glamour and elegance as well as youthful suppleness. It color-corrects and uneven complexion, and will also match your skin color perfectly when used together with your favorite foundation or BB cream."
How to Use: "Apply alone before foundation as a makeup base, or blend it in with foundation or BB cream in a 1:2 ratio (Best before October 28, 2015)."
As with the other products, the packaging fits the theme well, but not sure about the product. I did swatch this product (seeing that its gonna expire in less than a year).  A very pearly base that's not too different from other shimmering primers I've used before.

Overall, I'm not too impressed with this box. On first glance, the packaging fits the theme well, funky, electric, upbeat..but the products are quite disappointing.  Only two actual coloured products, with the other two primer/makeup bases, that don't really count. If I were to curate this box, I would have added a palette or two of bright colours, eye shadows or lip products too.

  1. Aww! I feel the same way about this box! I was expecting like a funky colored lipstick, maybe a blue or green mascara and some crazy bold eyeshadows or eyeliner! But this box isn't exactly what most of us would expect. Interesting product but not what most people would use. Thanks for the review!

    1. Your're welcome. Thanks for reading my blog :)
I've been using the White Angel Chorus Beam makeup base the last few days, under my foundation or bb cream, and actually like it. It adds a bit of glow to my skin..instead of that dull look. One useful item that I may use everyday isn't bad for this box.
